Roosevelt Simmons was employed as a Reliability / Maintainability / Safety (RMS) Engineer within the System Engineering Directorate for 5 years. Before this assignment, Roosevelt was a Systems Engineer for 11 years, joining the company in March 1997. During this timeframe, Roosevelt was responsible for engineering oversight and participation in critical investigations and resolution implementation on multiple complex, state-of-the-art military programs for which BAE was the OEM. Included in this activity was Root Cause Analysis and Corrective Action efforts which resulted in many successful reliability enhancements and product improvements that were routinely recognized by our customers. As a key member of our RMS team, Roosevelt displaying a very dedicated, highly-motivated work ethic, and was routinely relied upon to produce results in time-critical situations. His experience level and interest in solving issues rendered him the “go-to” guy in times of need, which is a quality he consistently displayed. Always willing to take on tasks that were considered laborious and tedious, Roosevelt would take an organized, methodical approach to researching, interfacing with the right people, and documenting resolutions to tasks assigned to him. Additionally, with his superior computer skills, Roosevelt was able to design computer programs that are used to this day as effective, company-recognized tools for RMS engineering efforts, providing not only repositories of useful historical information, but capabilities built in that can assist any RMS engineer on any program with a minimum of data input. These programs have resulted in cost-savings across programs that has greatly influenced our company’s ability to remain competitive during this timeframe which the DoD have implemented so many austerity measures.
