Bosch is implementing HMIs (Human Machine Interfaces) on tablets which can communicate with motor drivers via OPC UA. The application should be extendable and the UI of tablet can be altered based on the need. Therefore, I created a connection layer between the smart device and the controller and a desktop app which generates an UI for a mobile device on top of the connection layer. 1- Develop connection layer to controllers via OPC UA in Xamarin 2- Develop a desktop app with WPF to design UI 3- Applying MVVM framework

The assignment was about making a robot controller with a FPGA. This controller was developed using a Xilinx Zynq on a Zybo board. The embedded Linux operating system running on the processor needed to communicate with the custom hardware in the FPGA. Two FPGA modules were created. a PWM generator to control the motor and the other one to read data from an Encoder.Modules in the FPGA were being controlled by device drivers in Linux. And a control loop in Linux user-space controlled the speed of the motor and communicated with ROS on a higher level. My responsibilities were to: 1- Design PWM and Encoder modules in VHDL 2- Generate the DeviceTree for the Zynq chip based on the design in the FPGA 3- Compile Linux kernel and bootloader for Zynq chip 4- Develop device drivers for FPGA Modules 5- Write control loop with feedback 6- Installation and configuration of ROS

The Mechatronics Lab at Fontys was developing an Automoted Guided Vehicle with ROS. For which an abstraction layer between hardware and software was needed. This abstraction layer was developed for a microcontroller. My responsibility was to develop this abstraction layer in Python.
