AZURE TECHNICAL CONSULTING , Redwood City, CA, 2010 -2011 Recruited for contract to identify and correct deficiencies outlined in Due Diligence work in anticipation of an Initial Public Offering in late 2011 or early 2012 or for potential acquisition. Due to the rapid growth of the company, their order entry, inventory and shipping systems were woefully inadequate, resulting in frequent system outages, shipping issues due to inaccurate inventory measurements and general customer dissatisfaction. This was a project with many challenges and a very tight timeframe. The current system was written mostly in Java/J2EE, with some legacy functions written in ColdFusion. There were some functional components written in asp.net/C#. Some of the reporting components were custom written in Perl. The view components were a combination of JSP, JSF and some were created using Java. The supporting databases were in MS SQL 2005 and MySQL. There were also reports written using Perl. The source code was stored in directories, and there was no type of version control. There was generally no release planning or back out planning. There was also no real comprehensive testing and defect tracking process. Analyzed current Java, ColdFusion, asp.net, Perl code and MS SQL and MySQL databases. Developed a class chart for all code describing the structure of system classes, and the relationships between the classes. Developed system context diagrams showing what external actions that can interact with the system. Using this information, architected updated version of the software to help cure the deficiencies found in the Due Diligence analysis and our internal analysis. Worked with sales to gather additional requirements that they have requested but were never delivered.In addition to the Analysis, Architecture and Development duties, I led five teams, Java development, ColdFusion development, Database development, Report Generation and Infrastructure.

Recruited to turnaround mission critical application project, WebSight for provider of software web site support to over 160 small / medium / enterprise banking institutions and credit unions. Stabilized project, partnered with customer to gather accurate requirements, and utilized extensive knowledge of ColdFusion and development best practices to analyze and eliminate repeated application failures. Identified variables, designed next version strategy, and redesigned network architecture. Collaborated with Data Center to upgrade operating systems and migrate to virtual servers. Worked closely with Product Managers to re-brand application from “Customer Center” to “Websight”. Led Austin and Norcross US, Cape Town South Africa and Pune India based development teams. • Slashed number of customers lost through dissatisfaction with unreliable product, and directly supported new business development efforts through enhanced stability, mitigating losses of $400K-$500K/year. • Successfully led releases of 1.0, June 2008, 2.0 August 2008, with 3.0 scheduled to release in summer 2010. • Honored as employee of the month. • Instituted 'lunch and learn' program with support team, cutting number of support time in half through increased product knowledge. • Architected and prototyped a Flex-Based user-interface for a much easier experience in designing, developing and maintaining bank web sites. • Spearheaded development of 1st comprehensive test and development environments, dramatically reducing number of bugs released into production environment. • Migrated ~160 customers to new platform and ~160 websites to new servers. • Decommissioned /consolidated 400 sites from 6 servers to 1.• Moved from a hardware-based environment to a virtual one which increased reliability, performance and scalability.
