This was the case for multiple years until I finished university and started working full time as the main sales assistant in the shop. I would do everything from opening and closing, dealing with suppliers, in charge of part time staff, closing and balancing the til, administrative tasks with customers, business emails and everything in between. This was a part time role during my studies in Dunedin at the University of Otago. I would work here a couple times a week, mainly Friday’s and Saturday’s in the trade department. I jumped into this role really well from previous experience in sales and thanks to my father being a carpenter. Customer service is a trait Mitre 10 really encourages and is largely the reason of their nationwide success.
