I have spent the past few years cultivating and working on my passions. I’ve developed team skills whilst volunteering, including organisational and leadership skills as during this time I was appointed to a managerial position. Included within my responsibilities were developing key areas of the business and organising customer-focused initiatives as well as maintaining good relations with other companies with whom these key areas were closely associated. I’ve also spent time working in teams more focused on public events. With these teams, we have put on presentations to both entertain and inform people about more unusual topics. These have been generally well-received and have helped me develop a good team spirit. These, as well as other projects, have taught me how to handle and apply critique and grow my skills and knowledge base. In September of 2018, I joined the Open University to study for a degree in Computer Science. Since starting, I have developed my understanding of computers and Information Technology. I expect to finish my course in mid-2023 to early 2024. Going forward, I intend to finish my degree and cultivate my skills further. I am open to the possibility of attaining a Master's degree in the field of Cyber Security or pursuing a career in Information Security. In my free time I am doing further research into cyber security, including broadening my knowledge of coding, predominantly python, as well as using resources such as hack the box to gain a better understanding of the ethical hacking side of cyber security. I am capable of working within a team environment as well as an individual. I also have a good ability to learn new and develop existing skills. I am driven to grow as much as possible and get as much out of an experience as I can. Since starting my course with the Open University, I have shown myself that I can drive myself to succeed with minimal supervision, and can continue to learn whilst maintaining other hobbies and passions. My hobbies include painting, history, puzzles and computer repairs. I have pushed myself further than I ever expected in the field of painting and have some accolades for my work. I have taught myself how to build PCs and have enjoyed the process while doing so these skills have helped me with deadline management, detailed work and feedback integration. I intend to grow these skills further and introduce new ones when the chance arises. In the past, I have worked on small scale VM systems and servers for a small group of trusted individuals.
