I was employed at the Premier's Department to implement an overhaul in the month end process.Major Achievements:- Build of new month end report template. - Creation and build of forecasting system, at a consolidated group level.- Training and technical support for new month end procedures and reports.- Use of macros to improve efficiency. - Work on budget (including creation of gannt chart to track overall organisation progress).

I was employed by Hilton to help manage a period of great transformation. They were going through multiple accounting system changes, account code block change, a corporate restructure while launching an IPO.Major Achievements:- Key component of Hilton’s Corporate Restructuring set to save the group USD$200m annually, creating and implementing journals across multiple regions, account code blocks and accounting systems that encapsulate legal and tax goals.- Process improvement – reduced monthly forecast report from three days to a day by changing excel templates and procedures.- Reduced quarterly Corporate Long Term Incentive accrual process from six weeks to three through template and procedural improvements.- Owned reconciliation process from Hyperion Enterprise to Hyperion Financial Management including template creation, variance analysis and mapping of kick-outs.- Successful component in movement across account code blocks (PeopleSoft), responsible for reconciliations and mapping of kick-outs.

I was employed to assist in post ownership change restructure and ongoing group accounting.Major Achievements & Tasks:- Restructure of work procedures and staff allocation to improve efficiency, month end reduced from 14 to 12 days.- Revised previous financial positions to reflect new consolidated company structure for comparative reports.- Forecasting of cash flows using advanced modelling.

I was employed within Lacoste Footwear to quickly gain an understanding of the company and produce the cost component of the next year’s budget (circa £200 million).Major Achievements:- Successful presentation to Director and Finance Director of completed budget and Q4 forecast. Positive feedback on thorough backing schedules and timely preparation.- Review and upgrade of existing Balance Sheet controls and journal templates. Improved reliability and correction of on-going Balance Sheet error.

ESPN is sports focused media outlet within the Disney Group and I was employed in the Europe, Middle East & Africa division. The audit (September year-end) had discovered systematic failings (including a £1 million marketing accrual with no supporting documentation) and it was my job to fix these and implement controls.Major Achievements:- £600k increase to profit due to accrual & sales corrections.- Implemented new PO coding system for marketing costs (WBS codes in SAP).- Construction of marketing report template (in conjunction with marketing director) for distribution to regional marketing heads. This allowed for tracking of current marketing spend as well as spend already signed off. In addition it gave spend breakdown by sports, events and regions something that was previously not visible.- Built complex template to capture subscription numbers that increased reliability of revenue forecasting.
