Over the years, my business partner and co-director Rubert Fitchet and I have worked hard to develop Sledgehammer Studio into what it is today: an award-winning, full-service film production company. That said, this is still just the beginning. I am passionate about growing the company as it successfully tackles increasingly ambitious projects, while continuing to develop its unique style and streamlined way of doing things that our clients love us for.Behind the scenes, we are constantly improving the technical scope and foundational core of the company to allow for expansion in terms of vision, sustainable scaling and quality of output. I am intimately involved in all of the above, as well as with each stage of the creative process of filmmaking, from concept to completion.

At the North Coast Courier, a leading community newspaper reporting on KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa, I was responsible for finding newsworthy leads and interviewing stakeholders in these stories, documenting with photographs and bringing together the full article.My natural inclination was towards human interest pieces, and this was a great opportunity to connect with people of all different backgrounds while discovering each person’s narrative in what often began as a complicated plethora of stories and perspectives. It helped me to discover and nurture a passion for creatively bringing a story to life – from concept to physical manifestation.
