My goal is to empower students to become independent and lifelong learners. I am eager to continue focusing my energy and creativity in the classroom to provide the best education possible. I strive to teach in an environment where I can serve the needs of diverse learners and have an opportunity to collaborate with other educators.For 4 years I worked at the International Engelska Skolan Täby (IEST) I taught 4 and 5 grade curriculum with my main focus being mathematics. For 4 years I have taught in this international setting with staff and students from all over the world and learnt many different ways of developing a love for learning and techniques to teach students with diverse needs. Whilst working at IEST I have provided creative lesson plans, detailed student evaluations, raised instructional delivery and have been highly praised for my effective classroom management. As an enthusiastic member of the school community I run multiple clubs, including mentoring students before school who needed extra support in maths, taking time after work to lead advanced mathematics clubs for students in need of challenging, as well as a chess and a reading club to encourage students to develop their passions.Since moving to Canada in 2021 I have been working at Ashwood Glen School in Burlington, learning the IB program as well as extending my teaching knowledge to include Pre K to grade 5. I have found that the IB teaching style fits perfectly with my method of teaching as it encourages students to follow their interests as well as using the learner profiles to grow.Throughout my time teaching I have also been an avid educator and leader of both Forest School initiative and other wilderness training camps. I have recently started up a Leadership Camp in Sweden working with students from grades 6 and 7 to develop their leadership and confidence skills through participating in overnight camps.I would contribute to the a schools approach to an inclusive learning environment where community is a keystone through both my experience teaching and learning internationally as well as encouraging students to learn and grow in different ways. From making students with diverse learning styles feel welcomed and accepted to make sure everything that is taught can be done intentionally to support everyone and develop more than the skills available at first glance.
