Up until creating AREA4, co-founder Rory McEvoy was the Director of Citywide Special Events in New York City for the Parks Department. From the regulation and production of the majority of large or commercial public events in New York City over the past decade, including Great Lawn concerts, the ING NYC Marathon, Red Bull Snowscraper, Fox Upfront, Nautica Triathlon, numerous promotional set-ups, pop-up stores, art installations, festivals and displays in the most prominent of public locations, he brings an enormous level of experience to the firm.With principal management’s combined 28 years of industry experience in New York, AREA4 has it covered - from marketing campaigns and product launches to art projects, concerts and sporting events. Clients include BMW AG, Missoni, Target, Nickelodeon, NFL, Nike, GAP, Samsung, Old Navy, international governments, public-private partnerships and many more.

Rory was the Citywide Director of Special Events for the Parks Department for New York City. Along with this regulatory and production-related experience, he leveraged his extensive network in the industry and government to start Est2020 in 2011. Rory managed the Citywide Special Events Office, overseeing hundreds of commercial or large scale events annually. He streamlined and automated the permitting process to maximize efficiency through the use of current information technologies.Rory worked closely with all affiliated Parks groups in NYC in the event production and management arena (from best practices, to rules and regulations, contracts, insurance requirements, permitting systems, event oversight and approvals), including groups such as the City Parks Foundation, Central Park Conservancy, Bryant Park Corporation, Times Square Alliance, Riverside Park Fund, Union Square Partnership, Madison Square Conservancy, Prospect Park Alliance, Open Space Alliance, Battery Conservancy, Brooklyn Bridge Park, and many "Friends of" groups, BIDS and public-private partnerships. He worked closely with the Mayor's Office of Citywide Event Coordination and Management, the NYPD, the Department of Buildings, FDNY, Department of Health, Department of Transportation, Department of Environmental Protection, to name a few.
