Factory Worker
I worked for Freshco during my breaks in mid to late summer for my last year of high school and first year of university, depending on seasonal patterns (I worked during two breaks for high school and one break for uni).In this role, my responsibilities included working efficiently in a fast-paced production line, following safety protocols and maintaining a clean and safe work environment. This role further helped my teamwork skills, as collaborating with many people to ensure that production went smoothly was a big part of the job. In addition, time management skills were essential to ensure the production line moved fast and steady.
Checkout Operator
I worked as a checkout operator for Raeward Fresh for the 2022/23 summer holidays before I moved to Auckland for university. My responsibilities included assisting customers in finding products while providing excellent customer service, collaborating with team members to ensure efficient store operations and maintaining and organising shelves to ensure stock availability.Working at Raewards was enjoyable as the team was full of creative, funny, and pleasant people. This job helped me develop my customer service skills and immensely helped my multitasking ability as I moved from department to department, particularly during the busy Christmas period.
Cleaner
Working as a cleaner at Nelson College was my first job, and I continued work for over two years, consistently showing up after school. Responsibilities included executing cleaning tasks to a high standard, maintaining assigned areas (classrooms, restrooms and common areas) and emphasising attention to detail in tasks such as window cleaning, trash removal and disinfecting desks. My time as a cleaner at the college was a driving influence on my time management skills. This is because I ensured that I completed all of my tasks promptly and to a high standard. In addition, I also gained further teamwork skills as we worked together as a close group and ensured that if one of us finished early, we would help the others finish the tasks. Overall, my time working at the college helped provide me with new skills and develop my already existing skills.
Chief Executive Officer
Seven Degrees Parallel was a coffee subscription business that I had the pleasure of running in year 13 business studies at Nelson College. Through running this business I learnt about core concepts that viable business use to make decisions and improve business operations over time in order to become sustainable and successful. Communication and leadership were vital skills that I learnt and developed in this role. It was crucial to ensure that communication between the team and external organisations was clear. In addition, leadership was also an essential skill in ensuring that group members achieved tasks promptly.

Port Worker
Working at Talley's was the first full-time position I held, and this was during the 2020-21 summer holidays.
