During my six month placement I gained experience across both manufacturing and quality engineering where I undertook a broad spectrum of responsibilities. My role also involved communicating with different departments within the company such as sales and external companies and customers.Skills & Knowledge applied in role:Mechanical Engineering:-Continuous improvement -Implementing lean manufacturing principles-Plant Layout (AutoCad) and ProcessQuality Engineering:-PPAP, that included Process Flow Diagrams,Control Plans, PFMEA's, and Measurement System Analysis Studies. The PPAP's meeting the automotive standard TS16949.

Roles & ResponsibilitiesThe company is my own family business. I work summers and minor holiday’s breaks. The job is a skilled based job that includes everything from skilled hand tooling, automation machining, sales and management. Management involves working with the employees and organising jobs to be done and placed with efficient time and production to produce a final product that meets the demands and promises made to the customer. Skills Applied:-Operating CAM CNC machine and Axis-cutting saw for manufacturing stone worktops.-General office administration including liaising with clients in person and over the phone.-Polishing granite using diamond turn wheel and hand pads.-General labor work including shuttering and erecting gravestones and installing kitchenworktops.-Sandblasting letters onto gravestones.
