In my current role with FINRA's Strategic Analysis, Research and Publications group, I primarily collaborate with subject matter experts across FINRA to produce regulatory notices, alerts and reports for industry and public consumption, notably:The 2024 FINRA Annual Regulatory Oversight Report;Cybersecurity Alerts and Advisories that focused on cybercrimes such as phishing attempts, imposter schemes and vendor risk; andFINRA's Targeted Exam Updates on Crypto Asset Retail Communications, Social Media Influencers and Options Account Supervision.

During my time in FINRA's Member Supervision Training Department, I led the design, development and delivery of eLearning, in-person and live virtual courses that focused on the fundamentals of financial risk management, including funding and liquidity risk; compliance with Regulation Best Interest and Form CRS; and analyses of high-profile financial products and priorities (such as mortgage-backed securities, private offerings and excessive trading).

I was part of the design team for Kaplan University's Writing Composition online course for ~30,000 students. We're developing the required written and recorded content to teach them how to plan, write, edit and revise a variety of essays (e.g., compare/contrast, research).

Vienna, Va

I redeveloped safety courses (e.g. Introduction to General Hazmat Materials, Cargo Tank Inspection) for the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMSCA), using the ADDIE and Dick and Carey theoretical models. Our Instructional Systems Design (ISD) team analyzed student feedback and test scores and collaborated with subject matter experts (SMEs) to guide us towards our ultimate goal: creating authentic, "brain friendly" course materials that students can use in the field.My most recent project was designing a week-long HAZMAT instructor training course. I interviewed a team of master instructors to determine the best pedagogical techniques to teach trainees; I also collaborated with my fellow Instructional Systems Designers (ISDs) to define the specific criteria for passing the course, develop learning aids, and write a detailed, helpful trainer guide.

I administrated Kaplan's Facebook and Twitter accounts, posting SAT/ACT strategies and responding to student questions. I also blogged twice a week for Kaplan, describing test prep strategy via pop culture for teens, and wrote and recoreded over 100 answers for the 2013 smartphone and tablet SAT Prep App.

Using Adobe Connect, I've taught and tutored over 2,000 high school students for Kaplan Live Online, earning positive reviews from ~97% of surveyed students (70% of whom rated me as "Excellent"). I also auditioned prospective Kaplan instructors and formally mentored our part-time faculty on a weekly basis.On the technical side, I've designed and presented online classes, marketing events and seminars with Adobe Acrobat. I've also administrated Kaplan's SAT Facebook and Twitter accounts through Radian 6, and guest blogged for a Kaplan-partnered college prepatory website.

As part of the curriculum team, I wrote and edited the Teacher's Editions for our SAT and ACT Lesson Books published in June 2010, and our online PSAT course in 2011. I've also copyedited the 2011 retail edition of the Kaplan ACT Premier textbook, updated the ACT Teacher's Edition for our 2013 course revision, and helped develop the PSAT curriculum for the spring of 2013.

I coordinated the daily activities of the Tyson's Corner Kaplan Center; I also promoted our courses through consultative selling, presented sample lessons at marketing events and managed a staff of 2-3 Student Advisors.
