I do more and more community stuff these days. Hoping to make a difference. I like the idea that "ResponseAbility" is that we respond because we have the ability to do so.I'm lucky to live by the Cornish sea with my family. Heading off to kitesurf, stand up paddle board, walk the dog, canoes, beach BBQ's ....I've been asked to chair a few local groups, including an amazing group that came together at the start of the Covid pandemic to deliver food, prescriptions and other essentials to many who didn't have a support network they could use. Today it's a bi-weekly community fridge that gives out free food, where most works otherwise go to landfill. Comercially, I started in shipping that gave me a firm commercial basis. Through family investments I'm still involved with the tank container segment of shipping. I later founded and ran a mostly Web agency (Embado Ltd) where there term help clients make the most of the Internet opportunities (Web sites, emails, social media strategies, branding, etc.).With La Roche we have an amazing opportunity to deliver a decades old vision and help the local community.I'm exceptionally anxious that we are over 1 degree warmer than we should be. That "greenhouse gases" are at a 4.5 million-year high. Last time the planet was 4 degrees warmer than pre industrial levels, sea levels were 24m higher than today and tropical species such as crocodiles lived above what is currently the artic circle. That's not a future I want to be handing to future generations.
