Dance Marathon at the University of Florida is an annual 26.2-hour event benefiting the patients of UF Health Shands Children's Hospital in Gainesville, Florida. Each year, more than 800 students stay awake and on their feet for a full weekend to raise money and awareness for Children's Miracle Network Hospitals. Last year, we were able to raise more than $2 million. Family Relations Captains serve as the direct liaison between DM and over 50 Miracle Families. Our main responsibility is to create and maintain a personal relationship with these families and their children. Our Miracle Families are DM's true inspiration, and the pinnacle of what DM stands for. The birthday parties, end-of-chemotherapy parties and play dates that we have with the children constantly remind us of the true meaning behind dancing #FTK (For the Kids).
