I was responsible for managing daily operations of the division’s six Statewide Bureaus. The Statewide Bureaus develop and manage the statewide programs, policy and guidance in the areas of design, construction, materials, surveying and real estate, structures, environmental services, civil rights, labor compliance, highway maintenance, roadside facilities and traffic operations. My duties included strategic and business planning; developing and managing operating budgets; performance management; program delivery; personnel resource management; and maintaining department professional relationships with industry stakeholders including, Wisconsin Transportation Builders Association (WTBA), American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC), Wisconsin County Highway Association (WCHA) and the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA).
