I’m an experienced event manager who led UK-wide events - in mass participation sports events, corporate events, tv productions, snow sports and most recently Mountain bike events in New Zealand's central North Island. I have my CIMS 4 NZ Civil Defence Certificate that specialises in Incident Management Response. Super proud to have been part of an award winning operations team at Threshold Sports who received recognition by being awarded Silver in the Sports Business Awards for Deloitte Ride Across Britain 2018!The world of sports events is unique in that it isn’t really like any other job or career. What I love, is that I don’t sit behind a desk most of the year and instead I am mostly found on location somewhere surrounded by my extended family - the crew, suppliers and competitors. My interest in events stems from a personal love of sports, the outdoors, as well as encouraging people to take part in extraordinary events that challenge their limits. Senior Event Manager
I have successfully lead the delivery of two major Threshold events annually with over 2000 participants, plus roughly 150 crew and multiple suppliers. I have also had an essential role in the delivery and development of the Threshold trail series (Ultramarathons) over the past several years, with over 2500 participants and a crew size of 80-100. As well as Threshold mass participant events, I have lead and managed a number of small to large corporate events for major companies such as; Comic Relief - Sports Relief Challenges, Samsung, Microsoft, SOC GEN, Bupa and SABMiller which vary from midnight marathons to 2-day away trips, with around 200 participants. All were a client acknowledged success that generated repeat business year on year. Within a small logistics team efficiencies are essential to the overall operation of a very busy and long season. I take pride in being able to provide great value and input into the logistics and development of each event. Which involves refining our processes to ensure we are constantly developing the events to be the very best they can be for the clients and participants. Managing crew and suppliers are key to the smooth running of any event, so I strive to build relationships and maintain effective dialogue throughout which therefore means objectives are met. I have personally developed our food VIK (Value in kind) contributions to grow our income from £2-£5k per year to just under £40k worth of products per year.I love seeing a project from start to finish. In particular, scoping projects from beginning to end, and then managing the budget to ensure targets and profits are met, drives me to deliver great events.

I was responsible for all HR duties for the Whistler & New Zealand operation, including managing general administration of the office on a day to day basis and organising all HR practices such as; performance management reviews, payroll, training & development, employee relations & housing, visa and sponsorship programmes as well as office events and social occasions. On top of a normal business day I took on greater responsibilities and achieved great results with finding new business locations for, special event projects and new permanent sites.
