During my internship at King County Wastewater Treatment Division, I focused on enhancing system efficiency and accuracy. My key contributions included:Heat Exchanger Optimization: Investigated and identified causes of blockages in a critical heat exchanger used for cooling a server room. Conducted research on alternative models and proposed clog-resistant options to improve system reliability.Project Support: Assisted a Principal Wastewater Engineer on a low-pressure sludge gas line replacement project. Analyzed discrepancies between as-built drawings and actual infrastructure, conducted site visits, and meticulously documented assets to refine and update Process and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs).My role involved hands-on problem-solving, detailed analysis, and collaboration to support the division’s operational excellence

SRCS has been making improvements to schools within the district, developing new buildings and modernizations to enhance learning environments and optimizing sustainability. I collaborated with a team of owner representative, architects, program managers, project managers and construction managers on the following sustainability projects: -Collaborative for High Performance Schools (CHPS), Coordinated and reviewed the scorecards with architects and made sure we met consistent milestones and criteria. -Developed an EV Charging Stations implementation plan for 58 charging ports across the District, working with a multitude of stakeholders, including TAM, MCE, and PG&E to develop a program of 150K in rebates.-Benchmarked Districts buildings using Portfolio Manager to observe consumption and cost of electricity and gas, and subsequent GHG emissions. Provided live updates and comparison to buildings of the same type.-Sustainability Committee - workshopping with students and community partners, we developed a plan and implemented a Zero Waste system, and proposed and developed policy. -Worked with solar consultants to implement a plan to generate 90% of the District’s energy use with on site solar panels.
