Managed the Employee Activities Committee (EAC) for the Dallas office. The EAC works together to come up with ways to encourage humor, teamwork, and fellowship in the workplace to improve morale and camaraderie.Responsibilities also included hosting quarterly meetings, budget management, and event planning and coordination.

I was employed as a full-time intern for Sherfey Engineering during my summer and winter breaks from college. My responsibilities included research in "Las Colonias", undeveloped neighborhoods in South Texas that lack basic living necessities. Properties were sold to low income families under the understanding that utilities, for example, would be installed within a few months. I assisted in establishing qualifying properties, documented the needs of each of those properties, and created exhibits for several of the subdivisions to point out the locations of concern. The project was part of Texas' Colonia Initiatives Program.I also assisted a graduate engineer in the grading, drainage, and design of sanitary sewer systems of two subdivisions. Additionally, I was mentored by a licensed engineer through the various stages of design and construction of elementary school facilities.
