This position collects, researches, interprets, and disseminates information relating to art, history, and science within the collecting policy of the University Museum. The incumbent designs and coordinates educational activities that promote and encourage the use of the University Museum and makes decision by exercising discretion and independent judgment.

Born and raised in Venezuela, I am happy and eager to build interesting stories, have conversations, and doing activities with my students that will allow them to pick up the language I grew up speaking. Approaching teaching with Comprehensible Input, I've managed to create a positive classroom culture of learning Spanish and including other content areas in our lessons. I am passionate about student success, classroom culture, and building relationships with parents and students. I am responsible to develop a student-centered Spanish I, utilize classroom practices to improve first-language literacy among students, creating engaging, student-centered curriculum maps, units, assessments, activities, and weekly lessons plans, to build professional, empathetic, and positive relationships with students, parent/guardians, staff, and faculty, create a warm, equitable, and safe classroom culture through positive reinforcement and clear expectations, differentiate instruction for students with diverse learning styles, work as a parent-teacher and parent-faculty translator for non-Spanish speaking fellows, and ensure effective and positive communication with parents and guardians regarding their children's progress and growth.

Planning lessons and leading a Ceramic Wheel-Throwing class once a week.In the class, students learned to make cups, plates bowls, and mugs, depending on their own personal interests.Students learned how to alter clay and how to glaze bisque ware.Classes were once a week, 3 hours long, and with around six adult students.

Led Art Zone, Milkshake Mashup, Traveling Trunks, Buie Babies, and Summer Art Camps for children of all ages as young as 2 years old.Prepared, set up, and engaged museum visitors through community engagement events such as Family Days, Santa’s Workshop, and museum tours.Created a warm, equitable, and safe classroom culture through positive reinforcement and clear expectations.Built professional, empathetic, and positive relationships with community members, students, parent/guardians, staff, and faculty.Promoted curiosity and creativity through educational and artistic opportunities.Encouraged appreciation for museum exhibitions and collections through engaging programming.
