English below.Als onderzoeker leid ik momenteel het Lectoraat Wereldburgerschap aan De Haagse Hogeschool (THUAS). Ik ben historicus, journalist, activist en bestuurskundige. Mijn passie ligt in het bevorderen van burgerschapseducatie en jongerenparticipatie, het veranderen van het gedrag voor een duurzame en inclusieve toekomst door middel van onderwijs, onderzoek en maatschappelijke betrokkenheid. Ik ben lid van de wetenschappelijke werkgroep Burgerberaad Klimaat en geef leiding aan de onderzoeksagenda Klimaatrechtvaardigheid aan De Haagse om de gevolgen van klimaatverandering voor kwetsbare bevolkingsgroepen te adresseren. Ik pleit daarin voor eerlijke oplossingen en transformatief leren. Ik ontwerp en begeleid door studenten uitgevoerde onderzoeksprojecten over de volgende onderwerpen:- SDG16: Vrede, rechtvaardigheid en sterke instellingen- Toekomstbestendige pedagogie voor lerarenopleidingen in het voortgezet onderwijs- EU-arbeidsmigratie- Kinderrechten- Eco- en UNESCO-scholen- Politieke effectiviteit van jongeren---Laten we verbinding maken en samenwerken om duurzaamheid, rechtvaardigheid en wereldwijd burgerschap in het onderwijs en daarbuiten te bevorderen.English:As a researcher I am currently leading the Research Group (Lectoraat) Global Citizenship at The Hague University of Applied Sciences (THUAS). I am a historian, journalist, activist, and public administration scientist. My passion lies in fostering global citizenship, changing behavior for sustainable futures through education, research, and community engagement. I am co-leading the Climate Justice research agenda at THUAS to address the impacts of climate change on vulnerable populations and advocate for equitable solutions and transformative learning. I design and oversee student-driven and advanced research projects on topics such as: - SDG16: Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions- Future proof pedagogy for secondary school teacher training programs - EU Labour Migration- Children's Rights - Eco- & UNESCO-Schools- Political Efficacy of Youth---Let's connect and collaborate to advance sustainability, justice, and global citizenship in education and beyond.
