Tasked with inspiring a culture of continuous learning, I lead the expansion of KMCD activities into all areas of Nokia's 18,000-employee Cloud & Network Services business group. This includes development of SME-driven certifications and curriculums, domain-based communities of practice, and programs that reward knowledge sharing and collaboration. In summer 2023, the 25-person KMCD team tripled in size with the addition of the product training function. And in the fall of 2023, we began generating a new revenue stream by rolling out an e-learning subscription service for customers.

- Built a knowledge management framework for the newly formed Core Services & Care group of 3,600 people, which helps architect, design, test and implement complex mobile networks and manage across 3rd party vendors. Used automation, analytics and a reporting engine to support and index an ever-growing number of existing data sources. - Transformed 10 siloed delivery teams into a collaborative knowledge sharing culture, inspiring 270 volunteer global sharing sessions that reached 12,000 employees (50% cross-team participation). - Led expansion from 15 to 40 technical certifications, growing certifications five-fold to 1,000 people; implemented incentives through WOW program that recognized exceptional results and new ways of working.

Nokia acquired Alcatel-Lucent in 2016 and my high-performing and technically talented team of 80 was mapped into Global Services System Integration. I assessed the existing Nokia portfolio, evaluated all talent, and connected it all into the new Master Solution Integration Services, outlining project management, architecture, technical leadership, and testing services. I defined and developed the Master Solution Integration Services portfolio globally, and expanded the testing services business as part of product delivery, building the new services portfolio to $50M with a 40% sales margin and $120M funnel, winning engagements including the Red Compartida Initiative for the Mexican government.

When the company split Global Services, I was selected to lead the transformation of the North America-focused delivery team - which delivered services in testing, project management, e-services, SaaS, and portfolio operations - into a Global Practice organization. I innovated new Network Performance services including a $750K expansion for lab and infrastructure testing. In two years, I grew the VoLTE Network Optimization Services by $20M with a 50% margin.

I was promoted to manage an expanded P&L that included prime integration and consulting services. Major wins included proposing, closing, and launching an $80M prime integration project for Verizon, and navigating and negotiating 300 opportunities across wireless, wireline able, satellite, and enterprise.

I identified the need and established a new Solutions Architecture function that resulted in multi-millions in new business delivering LTE, VoLTE, etc., solutions. I managed a $65M Services P&L with a 42% sales margin and established a top-flight practice of IP Architects that grew to $4M in annual sales.

Selected to expand service sales through business development for VoIP Solutions Integration, I built the team and the methodology to deliver multi-vendor solutions that achieved 116% of target. Partnering with sales, I led the win of the company’s first $187M outsourcing deal.

Staying with Lucent through the acquisition of INS, I was tasked with transforming the Services Business Development function into a consultative selling model, and generated a $1B opportunity pipeline and closed $370M in business in less than 2 years.

INS was an early enterprise network integration startup that expanded into network management, security, and business consulting. I was brought in to energize and grow the DC and Baltimore offices and grew the team from 20 to 75 people and led the development and implementation of a new Service Provider Strategy that helped lead to the company’s acquisition by Lucent for $2.4B in 2001.

Recruited to lead a team of 25 and build a cross-geographic consulting practices in Network Architecture, Network Management and Security, I brought in major consulting contracts that generated more than 60% in margin and proved that consulting is a profitable service.
