Responsibilities included: Supervising large groups of children ages 12 -18. Which included monitoring student's behavior and providing guidance as needed while on lessons in the field, and on excursions around the Island.Instructing lessons covering numerous topics in marine biology, ecology, and oceanography. Developing new and preserving existing curricula by constructing learning material including hands-on activities and laboratory work. and facilitating assessments of learning.Participating in collaboration opportunities with the community to inspire a well-integrated team via frequent correspondence with leadership to ensure expectations are met and innovate new ways to efficiently perform responsibilities.

Relevant skills include coral tank maintenance/aquarist, literature review, scientific paper writing, data organization and analysis, and scientific communication. Lab Skills include titrations, water filtering, water quality test and maintenance, tris curves, machine calibrations, coral symbiont counting via hemocytometer, micro propagule settlement, centrifuge, spectroscopy, chlorophyll filtration, microscopy, and pipetting. Lab safety - Biosafety Level 2 procedures, PPE, autoclave, biosafety cabinet, ultra-low temperature freezer, and fume hood.
