Dr. Rosalind "Roz" Conerly is a scholar practitioner based in the San Francisco Bay Area with over 15 years of experience in roles focused on creating strategy to affirm and highlight the nuanced experiences of Black, Indigenous, and people of color (BIPOC) within an organization to contribute toward culture shift. She has held roles in cultural centers and organizations focused on Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) initiatives and has taught courses focused on DEI and career exploration. Her expertise and scholarship focuses on creating and developing identity affirming spaces to assist with retention, belonging and creating points of connections to other parts of an organization. She has co-authored several notable works including, "Who is Going to Mentor Us? Black Women Administrators and Our Leadership Journeys" and "The Campus Underground Railroad: Strategies of Resistance, Care and Courage within University Cultural Centers".She is currently the Associate Dean & Director of the Black Community Services Center within the Centers for Equity, Community and Leadership at Stanford University. Prior to Stanford, she was the Director of the Center for Black Cultural and Student Affairs and an Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Rossier School of Education at the University of Southern California. Dr. Roz is the Founder of RDC Consulting, LLC, a boutique consulting firm that focuses on strategic planning and diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) across industries such as wine and academia. She is also a freelance wine writer and chronicles her evolving journey in the wine industry on Instagram as @rozpullsthecork.
