I recorded all of the data and designed specific graphs considering upper and lower limits. The client and Quality team have been inspected my work successfully without any comment to add. Handover documents have been on time following the existing programme.Due to my previous Ground investigation experience, I was required to organize all documents for different site investigations including method statements, risk assessments, activity plans, Quality Control Plans, Checklist sheet, programmes and Timelines Summaries. • Bam Ritchies
Geotechnical Enginner At Innovate Uk Detectable Grouting
    Bam Ritchies Apr 2016 - Aug 2016
Innovate Uk Detectable Grouting – Kilsyth.
This project developed a new detectable grout with accompanying interpretation software which will provide 3D images of time varying grout penetration for ground engineering applications. I contacted suppliers for obtaining drilling materials, checking and comparing different equipment. I carried out Laboratory Magnetic grout Trials for determining water/micro cement ratio and different proportions of super plasticiser and magnetite.I was responsible for supervising the site team, ensuring that everyone was fully aware of their role and responsibilities on site. I briefed all operatives prior to any activities commencing and at the end of the shift I gave a de-brief where we would discuss site issues regarding progress and production rates, plant issues, site jobs and planning of up and coming work. When Grout was injected, I checked laboratory testing was undertaken following specifications required. Field injection trials were used to demonstrate commercial viability and will provide preliminary data on the system detection accuracy and resolution. I carried out In-situ Testing such as Magnetometer and bore scope.I maintained all daily records, daily allocations and cost spreadsheet. Due to rig failure and subsidence of the ground I reported near miss and accident reports to my senior engineer. This information got fed back to the geotechnical team on a daily and weekly basis.
  • Bam Ritchies
Geotechnical Enginner At Dales Voe Remedial Works Shetlands
    Bam Ritchies Mar 2016 - Apr 2016
Dales Voe Development Remedial Works Shetlands
As part of the site team my role included investigation of defective tubular pile infill concrete and remedial works in some piles. The activities which I was in control were on site coring, logging cores and grouting for investigation works. I carried out Bore scope logging in the proposed location, adding extra information.I logged concrete core boxes detecting that samples were segregated or poorly recovered. I processed this data through pile sketches and photographs. From these results I determined areas of weakness in the piles. Pressure grout and tremmie concrete methods are taken as remedial infilling works for areas affected.Due to my previous experience I detected grout curing issues and I communicated to the rest of my site team.

This was then reported in a weekly meeting to the client and designer. I made sure I was professional at all times and maintained a high level of personal safety and environmental awareness through health and safety tours.I carried out bore scope and core testing for proving the effectiveness of the grout activity. All this information was collected and reported to my senior engineer.I developed a series of grout trial using different cements, ratios of water /cement for stipulating which ratio mix was suitable according the project specification. Through these test I increased my knowledge about grout testing instrumentation and British Standards requirement. I carried out these test in the site laboratory running a team of technicians. Managing all grout information on graphs I detected grout issues related with the curing temperature and PFA cement content. New trial with different super plasticiser volumes proportioned a final stable grout ratio.
