As a physical therapist assistant, my job duties consist of implementing the plan of care documented by the licensed physical therapist to patients in an outpatient and acute hospital settings, providing treatment including balance, gait training, therapeutic exercise, injury rehabilitation, modalities, Kinesio Taping method and manual therapy. Further duties include creating a home exercise program to help patients continue improving their health and wellness, restore function and lessen pain and disability for a variety of adult and geriatric patients in the outpatient setting. I am invested in educating the patient community. Education includes fall risk assessments, open houses and health fairs. In order to put the patient's needs first, I place a high priority in communicating with supervising physical therapists, nurses and other disciplinary health care professionals as necessary, recording and gathering pertinent information pertaining to patient’s progress, and billing according to payer guidelines. I attended the McKenzie Part A: Lumbar Spine and Part B: Cervical and Thoracic Spine courses. I am knowledgeable with the Kinesio Taping fundamental and advanced courses. For the last 9 years, I have been contributing to my community by helping students as a clinical instructor. I am bilingual in Spanish and English oral and written communication.
