These are the words that define my life and my career.The world moves quickly at the intersection of strategic communications, international public affairs, and global media ---I specialize in slowing it down. Over my career, first as international correspondent and later as a communications executive, I have always believed that this industry is all about connecting and helping. Connecting and helping people, companies, and institutions to live and work more efficiently, creating a better future for all as a fundamental source of progress and social cohesion. That is why I felt honored when I was offered the chance to become RTVE´s Ombudsperson – Defensora de la Audiencia. In journalism, we’re almost always talking about conflicts and fallings-out. Nonetheless, now, I am more interested in being a part of how people come together. I do believe in helping to restore trust and confidence in an on-going relationship between the Public Broadcasting Corporation RTVE and its audience. However, it´s not only about listening to citizens' opinions and responding to their concerns and complaints. It´s also an exchange and, at the same time, a meeting point. A conversation to learn and to improve as a society and to build together the best public media we all need and deserve. A conversation to understand our society's needs, ambitions and challenges to successfully embrace this era of disruptive transformation.
