Teach two cohorts of first graders, humanities. Plan lessons for Writing, Reading Comprehension, Phonics, Guided Reading, Language Arts and Social Studies. Have implemented changes in the classroom and instruction to produce higher thinking and critical thinking skills. Have pushed students to achieve more than they expected they could, they have overcome many different obstacles to meet grade level standards in just a few months.

Taught all core subjects, created lessons and activities to engage students in Science, reading, writing and mathematics. Created new strategies for students to achieve higher comprehension and build better writing skills. 90% of the class beat NYC on the math state exam and 80% beat the city in Literacy. In just the few months that I took over the classroom, students that were behind grade level moved at least 2 reading levels and at least 3 math levels. By the end of the year 98% of my students were meeting or beating grade level in reading and math.

Worked with scholars from Kindergarten to Fourth grade develop a better understanding of the English LanguageBuilt the entire program that is currently being run for the K-4 grades. With that I have written and set into motion its current curriculum for all lower school ELL students.Took scholars back to the basics and having polite conversation on a variety of topics are just two ways I help my EL students learn and improve their English language skills.
