Rosanne Haggerty is the President and Chief Executive Officer of Community Solutions, which works toward a lasting end to homelessness that leaves no one behind.Community Solutions leads Built for Zero, a movement of more than 80 cities and counties using data to radically change how they work and the impact they can achieve — and proving that it is possible to make homelessness rare and brief. A growing number of communities across the country are proving this is an achievable reality by reaching a milestone known as functional zero.Rosanne is an internationally recognized social entrepreneur and leader in developing innovative strategies to end homelessness and strengthen communities. Community Solutions assists communities throughout the US in solving the complex housing problems facing their most vulnerable residents. Our work includes large scale change initiatives (the 100,000 Homes and Built for Zero Campaigns to end chronic and veteran homelessness), neighborhood partnerships that bring together local residents and institutions to change the conditions that produce homelessness, and the development of new housing and housing finance models to close housing supply gaps. Earlier, Rosanne founded Common Ground Community, (now called Breaking Ground) a pioneer in the development of supportive housing and research-based practices that end homelessness. Rosanne is a MacArthur Foundation Fellow, an Ashoka Senior Fellow, a Hunt Alternative Fund Prime Mover and Schwab Foundation Social Entrepreneur. She is a recipient of the National Design Award (Cooper-Hewitt/Smithsonian); the John Gardner Leadership Award (Independent Sector), and the Jane Jacobs Medal for new ideas and activism (Rockefeller Foundation). She is a Life Trustee of Amherst College.
