At patriot Energy Group I worked on the finance and accounting team. I worked on daily tasks such as entering bills into quickbooks, preparing and printing checks, and entering data into our database regarding sales commission numbers. Additionally, I would work on individual projects to tackle tasks that were previously left alone. For example, I worked with excel and determined which customers were paying us at incorrect values, or not at all. Then I would gather evidence such as contracts and reach out to them for true-up payments which occurred on many occasions. Additionally, I would work on finance-based tasks such as comparing sales representative's costs to the company vs. their revenue earned. Furthermore, I worked on monthly excel sheets to help produce our key performance indicators, which is our monthly metrics that compares sales and financial numbers on a monthly and yearly basis. For accounting specific tasks, I often worked on reconciliations of our credit cards and bank statements to ensure we accounted for each transaction. I also worked with prepaid schedules for things such as health insurance and rent in order to find our monthly expenses. Lastly, I would often analyze the financial statements and balanced them with new transactions to ensure we recorded all transactions.While at Patriot Energy Group I received the benefit of working in a small-medium company with management who pushed me to try new things. I feel as though I've further developed my technical skills such as excel, quickbooks, and data entry while also strengthening my interpersonal and general business knowledge. Due to the company size, I was exposed to many aspects of business such as receivables, payables, financial forecasting, and team collaboration. This has prepared me to tackle a role within a larger company where I can add value through my experience and work ethic.

I worked at JayGee's as one of my first real jobs. I began just as a 16 year old barely able to drive and within just a few months I became proficient with scooping ice cream, satisfying customer needs, helping other workers, managing cash and the register, and developing a strong work ethic noticed by management. My first summer was fun, but my second summer I was given more responsibility with tasks such as training the new workers and solving issues that may arise such as the soft serve being too soft, the slush freezing up, or simply running out of whipped cream. While working with lots of responsibility I learned how to manage my time and to stay on top of my tasks so the operations would run smoothly. This job was just scooping ice cream, but I am grateful for my time there and the skills of management, money handling, teamwork, and customer service that I was able to further develop. I hope that I can bring these skills to the workforce.
