Participated in implementation of Children policies and programmes in the Sub -County. Other tasks were;· Created awareness and Advocacy on Children Services.· Received and recorded complaints and any other reports regarding violation of children rights.· Visited homes to conduct interviews, investigate cases of child abuse or neglect cases, providing assessments to determine whether a parent or guardian is fit to provide care.· Assisted in program design / development of new projects (Gender, Children and Social Development) while ensuring social inclusion and gender, children’s issues in programs design and development.· Provided assistance and procured accommodation for any child not in proper custody, any child who was abandoned or any child who was in need of refuge or safety.· Maintained a calendar of key deliverables, meetings and project visits to support the programme team work plan.· Prepared reports and recommendations to the child magistrate and facilitated court processes.· Developed and maintained a comprehensive database containing all the Projects activities / documentation and beneficiaries of the Program.· Traced, re-integrated and provided after care services to children in need of care and protection;· Assisted the Officers in responding to cases of child abuse, neglect, exploitation and intervene on behalf of any child who was in need of care and protection.· Provided psychosocial support services for children and their families.· Reviewed, analysed, and validated activities data to ensure consistency, integrity and accuracy based on projects specific guidelines.· Maintained project / department documents, ensuring zero cases of misplaced documents, quick document retrieval and adherence to the filing system.· Prepared timely and accurate error free field reports / data on children welfare matters.

This is a national non-profit NGO based in Kenya working with marginalized groups; women, youth & refugee community. As a Programs Intern, I assisted the Projects officers in identify challenges faced by marginalized and vulnerable groups among them refugee community, women and youth. Other key tasks were;· Assisting in the planning, implementation, monitoring and reporting of training programming for refugees.· Assessed the needs refugee community, women and youth of in a participatory manner and designed programming that responded to the gaps identified.· Set up files to ensure that all project information was appropriately documented and secured.· Tracked the implementation of all projects and provided early alerts on implementation challenges.· Monitored and tracked project progress including budgets in a timely manner and implemented corrective actions where significant deviations or program delays were noticed.· Prepared projects progress reports showing achievements / program performance against planned targets as well as provided justification for performance variance and areas of improvement.
