After studying Communication Studies and World Literary Theory at Murdoch University in Perth WA, Rose moved to Melbourne to work as a graphic designer, program publisher and radio producer in Melbourne. She later became a member of the theatre collective Australian Performing Arts Group at The Pram Factory in Melbourne and was a founding member of the Wimmin's Circus group. Working in Theatre and circus as both performer and technician (sound, light and stage management) she went on to become one of the first female sound mixers and roadies in the Australian rock music industry. Rose became involved in documentary film making working as sound technician, camera assistant and location manager. This led her to working in feature films in location management, as a 1st assistant director and assistant art director.Her strong commitment to the Arts and in particular community based organisations, has led Rose to sit on several NFP Boards and be dedicated to assuring equity and well being through these community based organisations. That commitment to community issues saw her elected to Fremantle City Council for six years and placement on the Fremantle Port Authority Board as well as other advisory boards. She was awarded with an Australian Centennial Medal for services in 2001.Having a mild physical disability and chronic pain led Rose to study Acupuncture in the mid 80's which she continued to practice in women's health centres, her own and other multidisciplinary practices and as a volunteer through SE Asia. Rose is now committed to the practice of Acupuncture/Chinese Medicine, running her own clinic Wise Acupuncture in Mundaring, Western Australia, as well as maintaining a healthy long standing interest in the arts and other community based organisations.
