-Managed voter questions via phone, email, and in-person inquiries while using the Qualified Voter File and other election administration tools to register voters, issue ballots, and provide voter services-Tracked developing legislation, particularly the proposed Michigan Voting Rights Act, to brief the Clerk on their substance and identify areas for needed clarification to ensure successful implementation-Coordinated ADA accessibility surveys for 29 voting locations to ensure these locations were accessible to all voters and implemented Election Day fixes to address accessibility needs

After my year as President, I am returning to this role to reconnect with more directly serving our member's professional development and using BAR's resources to promote equity in the public service and legal field.

-Coordinated a 15 person executive board to generate programming and services for a 80+ person organization-Oversaw the fraternity's professional development, philanthropy, fundraising, recruitment, expansion, and diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts to ensure that over 70 events happen seamlessly throughout the year-Led yearly elections, weekly chapter meetings, and continual project management to provide for current and future stability of the organization

-Led small group workshops for 5 new members, covering 4 different topics from resume/cover letter to interviews, improving overall professionalism of members for internship and job recruiting -Planned 8 speaker events each semester for approximately 70 members by inviting local lawyers, policy professionals, law school admissions officers, and Master’s in Public Policy program leaders to speak to BAR members-Developed a confidential and fair process for allocating 6 test prep scholarships to members based on financial need-Orchestrated an informational law school trip to Chicago for 15 members, to visit 4 schools over 3 days-Collaborated to run small group professional development workshops for new members to help them build resume writing, interview, and networking skills

-Oversaw over 30 voter registration events before the 2022 midterm election-Constructed a Dinner for Democracy presentation on the Judicial System and presented it to 300+ students to educate them on the impact and importance of voting on our Judicial System-Designed a Dinner for Democracy event to engage Engineering students based on feedback from their community and presented it to 300+ students as a part of a project to target populations with low turnout at UM-Applied for over $5000 in grants to fund voter registration tabling efforts for the 2022 midterm elections-Planned a voter registration campaign to target low-turnout voters (as identified by 2020 NSLVE data) and ensure that every new student is presented with an opportunity to register before election day

-Supported TUT's Dinner for Democracy Initiative as a Research Assistant in the Undergraduate Research Opportunity Program Community-Engaged Research Program

-Represented the University of Michigan–Ann Arbor in a body of university student advisors to the Secretary of State’s policy on student voting trends and policy-Served as the Leadership Committee Chair in charge of Public Affairs, the committee tasked with cultivating relationships with schools and stakeholders and creating connections between helpful resources and the schools that need them-Led Task Force meetings to coordinate long-term goals and provide a networking opportunity for Task Force members

-Developed and conducted a survey of community members on their thoughts on the development of a civil rights mediation process-Researched civil rights mediation processes in municipalities across the US and developed a mediation plan for the department’s civil rights claim process -Worked with other interns to develop internal procedures for the mediation process and publicity materials educating the general public on the mediation services offered

-Interviewed 15+ clients daily to collect detailed information for defense and offered clients support on how to attend court proceedings on Zoom-Organized 100+ paper and electronic records using Defender Data, JIS, and internal file management systems-Managed sensitive information in client’s files when reviewing police reports with clients, condensing psychiatric evaluations into briefs, and informing clients of Probation’s sentencing recommendations-Collaborated with attorneys and legal fellows to support their work and learn about the criminal legal system

-Wrote weekly policy briefs and meeting notes -Worked with the Civic Engagement Policy Advisor to create a social media campaign encouraging and educating University of Michigan Students on Voting before the 2020 election-Developed my own sustainability project, taking concerns voiced by other first-year students and creating a plan to subsidize reusable bags in the dining halls -Coordinated the creation of a Sexual Assault Reporting Guide to address gaps in survivor resources and educate them on legal and social support

-Maintained the park area by cleaning park facilities and ensuring natural preservation-Supervised and monitored the safety of up to 100 children a day-Worked as the first point of contact for patrons entering the park, while handling admissions protocols and providing customer service-Treated injured patrons using skills such as basic first aid and emergency management obtained in Red Cross Certification
