My team managed the company's finances and focused on improving strategic processes across all revenue streams.

For over 50 years, Aqua Quip has been dedicated to providing quality products and services to pool and spa enthusiasts within the Puget Sound area. Aqua Quip has 9 retail locations and offers repair, maintenance and construction services. I supported the family owned business through my role as VP of Finance. During my tenure we implemented many innovate growth strategies and fostered cross functional process improvements to drive profitable revenue.

The McDowell family businesses specialize in foundation piling, both commercial and residential. As VP, I provided leadership that assisted family to transition it's 60+ year old family construction business to the third generation. During my time, we navigated through one of the most difficult economic downturns in the construction industry and came out a stronger organization. I remain on their Board of Directors and continue to provide guidance.

The Alternative Board® facilitates monthly peer advisory boards comprised of local owners, presidents and CEOs who run non-competing businesses. Each month members gather to share experience and solve challenges to grow to the next level.As an Owner and group facilitator, I utilized expertise and delivered essential strategies and resources, working with over 25 business owners through the formation of three peer advisory groups.

GES Exposition Services is a full service general contractor to the tradeshow and convention industry. After acquiring my business, GES asked that I become their General Manager for their Northwest division. As GM I was held accountable for integrating two competing organizations into the dominant local market leader. We deployed improvement initiatives across the full scope of operations to eliminate redundancy, optimize staff performance and build a best practice culture. I enjoyed my leadership role for 6 years and then left to start my new business in 2006.

My partner and I built aggressively rebuilt this tradeshow general services contracting business over a period of 6 year. We successfully sold our company to GES Exposition Services in January 1999.In my role as VP, we strengthened the P&L and overall company value through strategic growth initiatives and solid operational practices.
