As an Aquarium Attendant I monitor tank temperatures as well as the general health of the fish and corals. Keeping a detailed log of each tanks' favored parameters (i.e. alkalinity, salinity, calcium, and so on) is important to its overall health. I also feed each tank a custom diet according to its species and maintain the cleanliness of the filters, glass, and any grooves that allow water flow.

Food prep and feeding was the bulk of the activities at RSCF as there were a lot of mouths to feed: bongo antelope, marmosets and tamarins, and several different species of parrots including our focus, the red-browed amazon. We made sure that we got eyes on each animal everyday and monitored the weather for any changes. If it got too cold we'd turn the heat lamps on; too stormy we'd do a detailed check of the fence line and trails. We'd also feed the Antelope at each station through 20 acres of backwoods and swamp with an ATV. There was also the occasional property maintenance like trimming and pulling/poisoning any nonnative plants and cage repair like a down perch or loose wire.

I kept up on the care, cleanliness, and feeding of each bird in an avian-specific pet store. I would also hand-feed any babies that were available at the time and groom any birds that needed it.
