I live in Cheltenham with my husband, Kingsley, and our daughter, PJ. I am a people person and enjoy building and strengthening relationships. I like finding out what makes people tick and having open and honest conversations. My career has steered naturally towards relationship management, developing volunteer programmes, delivering excellent supporter journeys, learning and development and I have a strong interest in equality, diversity and inclusion.I have built large, motivated and effective volunteer teams through developing and following processes, building relationships, regular and good communication and providing regular opportunities for learning more, meeting others and representing the cause.Part of managing volunteers effectively includes learning and development and providing plenty of opportunities for this. I have put on several training sessions, workshops and opportunities both in person and online and really enjoy developing training that is well-received by people, not matter what their preferred learning style. I have been mentored in this area as it is something I am particularly interested in and see the value in learning and development for us all in terms of the growth mindset. In 2020, when many organisations began to really look at what they were doing to improve their equality, diversity and inclusion, I took a real interest in how we can all make changes and how organisations can really help shape society and vice versa. I have a husband and daughter who are both mixed race and I want to do all I can to make the world a more fair and equal place. I am constantly learning through conversations, reading, documentaries, podcasts and theatre. At the weekends I hustle on my side hustle which is a food business catering for little kids and big kids (aka grown-ups). Everything we do is done with kids in mind but it just so happens that grown-ups love our food too. We cater for parties and have lots of ideas for the future (but there aren't enough hours in the day or days in the week). I have a large and close family and an amazing network of friends who I spend a lot of time with. I love being home and doing home improvements as well as cooking, entertaining and eating out on occasions. As much as I am into my food, I'm also into my fitness and I am a very keen walker and gym-goer (weight-lifting). You might find me doing the odd bit of yoga but on the whole I love exercise that really pushes me and makes me sweat. I'm a very positive person with lots of self-discipline and a zest for life.

PJ's Kitchen is my side hustle. We are Zanny & PJ, a mum and daughter team. We love good food and good times, so we decided to set up PJ's Kitchen to create and serve good food for kids to help them celebrate all their special occasions. The food was such a hit with ALL ages that we now cater for big kids (aka fully-grown adults) as well as the littler kids. Huge helpings of fun, special memories and shared moments come as standard. We are based in Cheltenham and cater from our home kitchen.

I looked after the wonderful Dementia UK supporters across the South-West of England and South Wales whilst on a maternity contract.I developed the area in terms of the partnerships we have both with organisations and corporates.I stewarded supporters along the supporter journey to ensure they have the best experience possible with Dementia UK, as well as raise significant amounts through their fundraising and continue to support in the future. I worked collaboratively with our Admiral Nurses, Business Development Team, Professional, Practice and Development Team and Corporates.I was very proud to be a part of the Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Group.Examples of work:-Presenting to the organisation on behalf of the Equality, Diversity and Inclusion group at the start of the organisations journey into being a more diverse and inclusive organisation about ways in which we can go about this and how important it is that everyone feels they can bring their authentic selves to work and work as a team.

I built strong relationships with supporters and strategic contacts across the West Midlands, encouraging support through money, time and voice. I recruited and managed a highly-engaged team of Volunteer Ambassadors. I supported with the Volunteer Programme centrally and helped to develop various volunteer processes as well as content for inductions and training. I supported the delivery of our volunteer induction when it had to move online and it was such a success that this continued.I worked with colleagues to set up a collaborative group for all staff across the West Midlands area so that we could better understand each others roles, support one another and work together more efficiently. I have organised well-received stewardship events including training, information drop-ins, thanking events and opportunities for volunteers to meet and share ideas. I have been part of organisational wide webinars and events to discuss various issues affecting children and young people.Examples of work:-Channel 4 documentary short film about ‘Extraordinary Teens’ Maya Ghazal was interviewed about her life since coming to the UK from Syria and her inspirations http://www.channel4.com/programmes/extraordinary-teens/on-demand/67467-005-Key volunteer, Susan Price, awarded the British Empire Medal in the Queen’s Birthday Honours. I recognised the value of her service and lead on the application to make it happen. -“I have spent the last few days doing handover notes and phoning/ emailing supporters re Roseann’s return. I have been overwhelmed by how much our supporters love Roseann. Everyone is totally delighted that she is returning. It’s an absolute testament to her amazing skills as a Relationship Manager. It’s been a joy to manage her patch and to learn from her.” Maternity cover-Filming a national Christingle service to be televised. I developed and implemented a community fundraising plan to recruit, retain and develop fundraising volunteers. This included maximising relationships with supporters, putting a programme of fundraising and awareness events together, recruiting volunteers, inducting and working closely with them and the community fundraising team.
