Coral Catch is dedicated to empowering Indonesian women to become leaders in marine conservation. Our mission is to empower 100 local women to protect and restore the coral reefs of Indonesia. Our award-winning scholarship program equips participants with the skills, knowledge, and confidence to take on critical roles in this vital field. By forming Indonesia’s first female-only coral restoration team, Coral Catch creates a supportive environment where women can lead and thrive. Since our inception in 2021, Coral Catch has built a network of 28 empowered Superwomen working within their communities to safeguard marine ecosystems. These women not only become experts in coral restoration but also serve as role models, teaching local women to swim, educating children about ocean protection, and engaging in conservation efforts through regular beach and underwater cleanups. We collaborate with the local government have established an MOU with the University of Mataram to strengthen our initiatives. Looking ahead, we aim to expand our Coral Catch Sisterhood and to keep laying the foundation for women to build better lives, stronger coral reefs, and brighter futures.

In a world where everything is overshared, overexposed, and overused, the ocean is our last frontier, where fascinating new discoveries are happening every day.Every day our research team goes out to collect abundance data within the zones of the Gili Matra Marine Recreational Reserve to assess the health of the environment and act to enhance marine protection and health where necessary. Our mission is to promote conversation efforts through education and research.To achieve our goal we conduct research using multiple research methods including; underwater roving video surveillance, roving survey dives, photographic identification, coral health index surveys, coral restoration, and land & marine based time-lapse projects. Through our weekly conservation classes at the local school and our Plastic Free Paradise Campaign we educate the local community and visitors of the Gili Islands about the importance of our ocean and what we can do to protect it.
