Applied my knowledge of AJAX, CSS, GeoRSS, HTML, Java, JavaScript, JSP, and SQL to engineer web and mobile applications for tracking world hazards including earthquake locations, tropical cyclone paths, hurricane prediction polygons, estimated tsunami contours, and other hazards. Developed automated database backup tools for archiving historical hazards. Frequently worked with Apache Tomcat and MyEclipse for rapid prototyping and engineering of applications. Employed HTML, JSTL, JSP, Java, SQL, and XML/XSL to create web pages to display metadata and other data. Worked with SOAP and REST for simple XML hazard messaging.

Collected GPS points around the Island of Maui, Hawaii. Utilized ESRI ArcGIS software to append metadata to the GPS points and map them with raster data and road overlays for use by a variety of agencies, including the Maui County Fire Department. Assembled map data is currently in use by Emergency Responders in Hawaii to accurately identify areas in case of medical emergencies or wildfires. Prepared Power Point presentations to communicate mapping project to outside groups that may have been able to utilize the data.
