I am a Senior Structural Engineer currently working at Clapper Structural Engineering, before coming here I worked at Conlon Engineering, KC Engineering and Land Surveying, and Jensen BRV Engineering. I graduated from Clarkson Univeristy in May 2014 with a B.S. in Civil Engineering with a concentration in Structural Engineering. I also have both my PE license in Civil-Structural Engineering and my SE license. Clapper Structural Engineering is a small structural engineering firm that mainly does residential projects, but also some commercial work. During my time here I have worked on projects ranging from structural inspection to high end residential homes to new apartment complex buildings. This has involved wood, steel and concrete design mainly, with the occasional light gauge, composite and masonry design as well. I work closely with the architects to ensure the projects meet the building codes, look good and fall within the clients budget. Conlon Engineering is a small structural engineering firm in Connecticut that does work in both residential and commercial fields. During my time there I worked on a number of commercial projects including designing reinforcement of school roofs to support new solar panels. This involved site visits to gather data on the existing framing and running calculations to check their capacity and calculating the loading from the solar panels. I also ran checks and calculations on delegated connection and light gauge designs to ensure they were correct.KC Engineering and Land Surveying is a multi-disciplinary engineering firm that works on projects involving electrical, mechanical, and water design. During my time at KC Engineering and Land Surveying I have worked on several projects involving structural design of supports for mechanical and/or electrical equipment, including analyzing and reinforcing existing structures to support the added load. While at KC Engineering I have learned more about electrical and mechanical design requirements and how that affects the structural design of a building.Jensen/BRV Engineering is a small structural engineering firm in Rochester, NY. While I was working there I worked on many projects related to building design, ranging from new building to renovating old buildings, including historical building which involved SHPO. The building designs included steel, wood, reinforced concrete, light gauge and even some composite framing.
