I serve as Secondary Curriculum Specialist ELA/ SS within the Support Dept. @ Hutto ISD with 20 years of experience in education. I am responsible for supporting and enhancing the academic programs across the district. This role involves working collaboratively with school leaders, teachers, & other stakeholders to implement effective instructional strategies, improve student outcomes, & ensure alignment with district & state standards. I focus on curriculum development, professional development, data analysis, & instructional coaching to inspire excellence and drive intentional, above-average academic performance.I attended the University of Texas at Austin, graduated with a Bachelor of Arts and continued on to Texas State University where I obtained a Master of Education degree. I began my career in education as a Reading Interventionist in a Title 1 school in Pflugerville, Texas. This is where I saw a great need to improve literacy amongst low socioeconomic populations. I have served as a Dyslexia Interventionist and an English/Language Arts teacher for 6th through 8th grade students. I also have experience working with English Language Learners. As an Instructional Coach at a Title 1 campus, serving English/Language Arts & Social Studies teachers, I've supported instructors in implementing explicit & systematic instruction through the use of differentiation and scaffolded strategies, following a scope & sequence model. I’ve served Hutto ISD students as an 8th grade ELAR teacher. My most recent experience was as an Educational Analyst @ Insight Education Group where I worked alongside some of the country’s most talented educators to support school improvement. My philosophy on education is that every child has the ability to learn. It is what we as educators & parents do to nurture that innate ability that truly makes all the difference. Determined educators who remain steadfast on making a difference, no matter how small, is what defines education.
