I am an Artist and Arts Consultant, currently based in Bournemouth. I am also a Co-Director of CoCreate Dorset an arts and health organisation specialising in co-creating projects with participants and partners. I have a background in working in the arts as well as being a practicing artist. I have a wide range of experience of project management from in this area from small scale festivals to a £10million European Union project. My skills and experience covers all areas of research & development, consultation, fundraising, networking and presentation. Having worked in the public, voluntary and private sector I am used to presenting ideas to a wide range of stakeholders as well as cross sector working. I am a self starter who can take projects through from inception to closure. I am creative and am good at problem solving as well as working with others bringing them along with me. Our community partnerships have included BCP Council, Bournemouth University, Dorset MIND, Social Prescribingnetworks, Wiltshire and Dorset Deaf Association, Lighthouse Poole, The LanternTrust, ArtCare, Dorset Blind Association.Since 2021, we’ve developedCreate:Connect - short courses supporting mental health recovery and promotingwellbeing. Courses focus on developing creative skills, self-expression, enjoymentand relaxation; building confidence and social connectedness. Our retention rateis high, feedback is overwhelmingly positive and we are frequently over-subscribed. Short courses are complemented by longer-term opportunities;supporting people to stay well and build confidence through continuedengagement. In 2023 a group of participants from our 2022-23 theatre /storytelling workshops went on to participate independently in a community playand an international Improvisation Theatre Festival. We recently delivered ‘DidNot Attend’, commissioned research by CAN and Public Health Dorset. We broughttogether participant-volunteers with lived experience to create a touring piece offorum theatre, exploring barriers to accessing healthcare. -
