Partnerships Agreements Specialist

NASA STEM Engagement Specialist, NASA Langley Research Center -Develops strategies using a systems approach to coordinate, develop and implement methods, procedures and resources in alignment with NASA’s Office of STEM Engagement (OSTEM).-Facilitates programmatic activities with NASA’s missions to build connections aligned with OSTEM's mission, goals, and objectives. Coordinates with external partners to identify opportunities to contribute to contribute to NASA's work.-Establishes strategic partnerships with NASA’s missions, the Space Grant Consortium, and the Museum Alliance to develop innovative and immersive instructional products for kindergarten through post-doctorate level students, educators, and academia. -Collaborates with subject matter experts, industry partners and customers such as Airbus, Boeing, SpaceX, and Lockheed Martin to develop and implement STEM content aligned with OSTEM’s mission and vision. Developed virtual reality content for NASA’s Next Gen STEM Commercial Crew Program leveraging commercial partners Boeing and SpaceX. -Maintains effective relationships with team members, internal partners, and external partners to schedule, plan, and organize opportunities that build synergies around innovation, exploration, and collaboration.-Oversees Langley’s annual Radford University Modeling and Simulation (MODSIM) professional development workshop for high school mathematics immersing teachers in NASA’s work, real-world applications and instructional products. -Serves as the lead for OSTEM’s IT Collaboration Tools tiger team overseeing and facilitating communication between sub-teams to establish an enterprise model utilizing Office 365.-Serves as the Center OSTEM lead for LaRC’s Transformation efforts working closely with leadership strategically developing plans, networking, and providing feedback and improvements for the workforce; to enable and encourage efficiency, effectiveness, and cost savings that enrich the Center’s culture.

Identified goals, objectives, and strategies for teaching mathematics content that incorporated a variety of methods of research and evidence-based principles and practices. Prepared and presented content rich lesson plans and activities with extensive use of technology and digital based mathematics applications, visual representations, and interactive question-and-answer techniques. Integrated a variety of pedagogical instructional methodologies to include lectures, demonstrations, discussions, and applications of real world content that aligned to curriculum guidelines and state standards. Supported a school-wide integration of technology designed to allow the entire student body the ability to connect virtually in a remote setting. Integrated technology and digital learning tools in constructive and innovative ways to introduce and extend mathematical concepts. Provided opportunities for students to practice and develop essential 21st century knowledge and skills. Evaluated and analyzed student success or failure using a variety of evaluation methods and techniques on a continual basis to determine content mastery or to identify problem areas. Monitored student progress through analysis and documentation of performance measures in compliance with education accountability systems. Provided meaningful, high quality feedback to students to enhance learning, build confidence, and improve student achievement. Modified teaching strategies to adapt to student learning abilities based on established criteria and assessment data. Effectively communicated with parents, faculty, and administration to make recommendations to improve teaching and learning environments. Served as the STEM club sponsor promoting and facilitating STEM education and experiential learning opportunities.
