I have worked in the world of media for my entire career to date, primarily journalism, public relations and communications. I'm currently Head of Commercial Content (Scotland) with The Scotsman. I was as a reporter and editor with trade newspapers and magazines in London for several years, including Money Marketing, Mortgage Strategy and Broadcast. During that time I also freelanced for national newspapers. I moved back to Scotland in 2005 where I became Personal Finance Editor for The Scotsman and then Business News Editor for Scotland on Sunday. I have also worked for Scottish and London PR consultancies. I joined the Scotch Whisky Association in 2011. As head of communications I had responsibility for developing strategy, handling media enquiries, managing social media, internal communications, publications and public enquiries. I left In January 2018 to pursue new opportunities in PR, communications and journalism.I was a director with Beeline PR and before that Muckle Media PR. I'm was a freelance journalist and writer, including corporate writing commissions, and comms professional. I freelanced for a variety of titles including The Times and Sunday Times and The Scotsman.I am on the board of advisors of Highland Carbon to promote sustainability and biodiversity.I was a board member/trustee/director at New Lanark Trust (voluntary) for a term of three years.
