I am an impact-focused leader driven to deliver social and economic change. I currently serve as the Executive Director of the NYU McSilver Institute for Poverty Policy and Research, responsible for the planning, organization, and direction of the institute’s operations, research and policy portfolios, and programming.Previously, I served for five years as Chief Operating Officer at NYU McSilver and led day-to-day operations, administrative, finance, external affairs, and communications departments and policy initiatives. I also served as the host of season two of the acclaimed podcast Black Boys and Men Changing The Narrative. In 2014, I was appointed to lead the NYC Mayor's Office to Combat Domestic Violence. Through a data driven approach, novel programming, and close coordination with law enforcement and other agencies, intimate partner homicides and related crimes were reduced in less than two years, while raising the agency’s profile through a highly effective public relations campaign.From 2006-2013, I served as Manhattan Deputy Borough President and tackled such diverse issues as community development, sustainability, food justice, and and transportation. My efforts led to transformative public debates and community efforts. Prior to transitioning to the government sector, I worked for 17 years as a public interest attorney and held a number of leadership positions within legal services organizations focused on ensuring that the most vulnerable had representation and access to justice, services, and support.
