Rheumatic Heart Disease (RHD) is an ongoing health concern in vulnerable communities in WA such as rural and remote communities, low socioeconomic communities, Migrant and Aboriginal communities. Acue Rheumatic fever (ARF) & RHD is the number one cause of preventable childhood heart disease in the world.I assist to maintain the RHD Register in WA, develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders in WA and Australia. I provide education sessions to community groups and Health Professionals to improve community wide understanding of ARF and RHD, improve the rates of secondary prophylaxis, uptake of ongoing care and eventually the elimination of ARF & RHD in Australia.
