Driving Safety Excellence in IBMD, General Services, and Road Safety at Tata Steel West Bokaro DivisionWith a strong focus on achieving safety objectives, I lead safety initiatives across IBMD, 18 departments in General Services, and the By-Products loading area, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and safety compliance.My key areas of responsibility include:1. Daily Safety Oversight: Conducting safety visits in the Coal By-Products loading and transportation areas, identifying risks, implementing corrective measures, and facilitating incident investigations.2. Annual Safety Planning: Developing comprehensive safety plans for the coal by-products loading area to align with divisional standards and safety objectives.3. Risk Management: Regularly refining risk management procedures, including recalibrating risk matrices, and reviewing emergency plans for robust safety preparedness.4. Standards Compliance: Ensuring adherence to company SOPs and SWPs and meeting DGMS and other statutory requirements, as well as divisional safety objectives.5. Hazard Mitigation: Identifying potential hazards, facilitating measures to reduce fatality risks, and promoting safer work practices.6. Safety Committees Coordination: Implementing recommendations from ASC, ASSC, DIC, AIC, and various safety committees, including SOP updates and safety matrix application.7. Contractor Safety Culture: Driving safety culture among contract workers by monitoring performance and encouraging improvement through a star-rating system.8. Training and Medical Compliance: Ensuring all safety training requirements are met, escalating non-compliance, and overseeing IME/PME and other medical requirements.9. Road Safety Oversight: Developing and implementing road safety protocols to achieve ARRSSC ABP targets, ensuring robust road safety practices across the West Bokaro division.

• Shift Administration & Supervision: Oversee the entire shift’s administration to ensure smooth mine operations, focusing on quality control, compliance, and safety standards.• Safety & Environmental Performance: Champion a zero-accident policy by implementing rigorous mine safety protocols and environmental standards, continuously improving safe work practices.• Production Process Monitoring: Monitor production processes in real time, optimizing workflows for efficiency and quality to meet daily targets without compromising on safety or compliance.• Contractor Relations: Foster positive and productive working relationships with contractors, ensuring mutual commitment to operational goals and safety objectives.• Production Target Achievement: Drive production to meet targets as per the approved mining plan, with a keen focus on quality and timely output.• Equipment Planning & Utilization: Strategically plan and manage equipment allocation and usage, ensuring availability and performance for efficient, continuous production.

• Drill Hole & Explosive Charging Monitoring: Conduct regular monitoring of drill holes and oversee explosive charging processes to ensure accuracy and safety.• Blasting Process Supervision: Collaborate closely with shotfirers to supervise blasting operations, ensuring safe and effective execution of blasting activities.• Support to Overman & Ventilation Officer: Provide operational and safety support to Overmen and Ventilation Officers, assisting with essential tasks and compliance.• Ventilation & Air Quality Control: Collect air samples and evaluate ventilation systems to enhance air quality, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and standards.• Safety Measures Implementation: Proactively implement safety measures to protect miners and the surrounding environment, prioritizing a secure working environment.
