Born and raised in Kingston, Jamaica, OG Techneek began making music in his youth in modest origins. Limitations can harness the utmost creativity, and OG Techneek is a product of such innovation. Humble beginnings made him resourceful in developing his craft, as he would regularly freestyle with friends over rhythms played with buckets and sticks. Dancehall was his first love, growing up with the sounds of Bob Marley, Vybz Kartel and Movado. It wasn't until he arrived in the United States, in his late teens, where he was greeted with the sound of American Trap. He was captivated, and thus began the merging of this new sound and cadence with the music of his homeland. Rooted in Dancehall, Trap would form the branches that grant him exploration of a variety of music genres. Part of the new generation of Rastafarian, OG Techneek keeps the Rastafarian values at heart while incorporating a less strict and more openminded approach.
