Working with veterans to assist with chronic back pain using Qigong (Ancient martial art). Through this research we hope to lower the use of pharmaceuticals among veterans leading to lower rates of depression and overdose within the community!Surveyed background information and demographics of participants using RedCap software. Collected biological samples from both the control and experimental group of participants using their saliva. Assisted veterans during the intervention and gathered data and reports by retrieving progress from participants.Drafted manuscript for research publication. Presented the study’s results at the FAU OURI Symposium.

Cooperated with PhD student to write grant for project.Studied bubble growth parameters to help find ways to cool down microelectronic devices, performed nucleate boiling experiments with two fin structures and compared the results to analyze the cooling rate of each. Presented project results at FAU OURI symposium, created an 8 minute powerpoint presentation about the research process of the nucleate boiling experiments.

Analyzed and reported on various research papers about the voice, wavelengths, and human relationship interactions. Created weekly progress presentations on report summaries or results found. Studied the voice recordings of dementia patient to show how the behavior of dementia patients changes in different situations. By the end of the study, new methods of cost- effective care will be implemented to assist the needs of the elderly allowing them to live healthier.
