Returning to recruitment with a great fresh start in digital engagement, accessibility, and virtual programming. After spending 3 years working for the faculty as an undergraduate student, I joined as a Masters Students and was hired to launch a new recruitment strategy accounting for the accessibility barriers posed by the COVID-19 pandemic. I am also launching a new initiative within the academic office with a UX industry based podcast to bridge the knowledge gap between students and industry professionals. Excited to be back as a grad student and emerging professional myself!

With the current circumstances revolving around COVID-19 I have been managing the execution of the first e-version of World Refugee Day. I have been strategizing, conducting research, and producing web-based materials to create an online and accessible platform for community members to engage in a meaningful space for our annual celebration. Simultaneously I am managing the digital presence through the organizations website and executing a daily marketing strategy for the annual Scotiabank Charity Challenge Marathon. Prior to being hired for Adam House as an intern, I had done a volunteer school placement in the winter of 2019 managing their digital media channels.

I have placed a heavy emphasis on effective internal communication, logistics and targeted programming management designed to connect and engage workplace stakeholders in furtherance of common goals related to equity and inclusion. While conducting and inquiry on the Toronto Transit Commission under Dr. Scot Wortley and Dr. Owusu-Bempah, I have been a key member of discussions raised in employee engagement, inclusion and diversity. The conversations have focused programming, consultation, process improvement, and practices around issues of employee engagement and social justice. I have had extensive experience writing to a diverse audience with multifaceted goals of reaching the targeted audience, successfully implementing new methods of communicating to a variety of audiences and strengthened the ability to recognize when communications can be aggregated to move forward across multiple agendas. I have experience in the facilitation, transcription, and consolidation of focus meetings with union members that are effective, productive and handled in a timely manner.

TOPdesk Canada is a result of our long standing success within the ITSM industry and in particular of our growth within the EU service management market. We have developed, sold and implemented our award winning software since 1992 and this exciting venture will only increase the capacity to further serve our loyal clients.As a Lead Generation Representative, my core responsibilities revolve around spreading the TOPdesk brand across Canada and building rapport with potential customers. This role has also allowed me to build on my organisation and presentation skills through various ongoing projects. I am responsible for generating leads with potential prospects, speaking to external organizations about their ITSM needs, and building company relationships.

I was responsible for researching, analyzing, interpreting, and presenting data related to the Toronto Police Inquiry. Through the research project I assessed variations of force used in legal disputes across Toronto. I advanced the sample of data collected by establishing a new method in which over 40 police reports that were initially thought to be destroyed were allocated and used for the analysis. Overall, I read through approximately 140 police cases and streamlined the information into a secure database for Dr. Scot Wortley at the Centre for Criminology & Socio-legal studies to further assess and interpret in his annual report. I further provided a detailed log of the cases with my own observations pertaining to the discrepancies of inclusive use of force practices. This was an incredible experience of working on a human rights project full-time with stringent deadlines and with a wonderful legal counsel team at the Ontario Human Rights Commission.

I recruited students to the The University of Toronto’s 32 Summer Abroad programs by acting as a main liaison between the university and the student community. Through this role I actively increased awareness of summer abroad programs by engaging with and presenting to students at information fairs and universities in the Greater Toronto area. I have further been initiating social media recruitment strategies to advance the programs digital presence. I was interviewed on behalf of the office to highlight my own experiences with summer abroad and the fortunate learning opportunities that came along. This role diversified my skills in areas of public speaking, being on camera, and story-telling.

I participated in an international internship through the University of Toronto's Centre for International experience's Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Scholarship Program in Darjeeling, India. I interned with Loreto, a pioneer in child-centred and child-friendly education. My role consisted of advancing the centre's social development projects in areas of advocacy and education. I would attend student homes with social workers and health care aids to assess their familial climate and provide feedback on improving their livlihood. Further, I was granted lead of education workshops in which I identified 8 students to have severe learning difficulties. In this time, I devised a workshop strategy with cognitive walkthroughs in which students exhibiting symptoms of dyslexia could be aided in a community that lacked the infrastructure and knowledge of dyslexia. By providing the head principle with potential resources and optimizing technical tools, I was able to support students who were previously unable to read with productive learning strategies moving forward. Since 1841, the organization has been providing inclusive education to millions of young girls through formal and non-formal education centres with centres located in urban and rural areas of India. With 8.15 million out-of-school children in India, my role is focused on inclusion and advocacy initiatives oriented towards supporting children and young adults who are out of school, living on the streets, or in rural areas with fewer opportunities.

Under the supervision and support of the University of Toronto's Book & Media Studies program, I participated in a 3 month media internship placement with the refugee advocacy and transitory shelter, Adam House. Within this role, I conducted timely interviews for over 30 guests, staff, and volunteers. I further handled the centres Facebook platform, and managed the centres "Humans of Adam House" blog mirroring the famously known story-telling platform "Humans of New York". This position included a photography component in which I advanced my portrait photography and photo editing skills. Moreover, I was required to work with sensitive narratives, topical issues, and share personal stories while promoting fundraising and awareness initiatives for the community. Towards the end of the placement, I submitted a research paper based on anecdotal support and scholarly material referencing interpretations of refugees through news media. I also submitted a creative project outlining innovative elements of the program.

I represented the university to external cliental for over 30 events, including the SOMA International Conference, Jane Goodall Earth Day Symposium, Transnational Nu-Skin Convention and over 25 Convocation Ceremonies. As an ambassador I was responsible for catering to diverse guests ranging from 500 – 1, 800 in number. This role required flexibility of extended hours from late nights, early mornings, and weekends

As a transitionary leader for the iConnect program I organized monthly meetings for students to share intercultural experiences. My responsibility was to serve as a liaison and provide student resources for emotional, health, or mental stressors. Moreover, I managed a group of 12 mentee-mentor international student pairings and I was apart of the small team of 6 event leaders that planned, budgeted, and initiated large scale gatherings for over 100 international students.

With the use of the CRM, I maintained databases of leads and provided communication with external student associations during pivotal times in the recruitment cycle in order to move the student from awareness right through to the accept stage. Furthermore, I developed and implemented an Instagram marketing campaign—recruitment strategy to highlight student successes to employers, faculty, and alumni entitled #StudentsofiSchool. As a student recruitment & admissions ambassador I was heavily involved with the organization of over 25 Information Fairs, Career Networking Sessions, Graduation Events, including coordinating event logistics, AV equipment, catering, name tags, attendee invites/reminders, photography etc. for 50 to 450 guests. I further assisted with the development and editing of the Graduate Admission Handbook. During information fairs, student booths, or pivotal times of the recruitment period I counselled and advised over 1,000 current and potential Faculty of Information students, including mature, transfer, graduate and as well as college registrars (in person, email, phone) regarding admission requirements, program options, and financial services. My role required flexibility in location as I represented the faculty at recruitment fairs across the GTA as an Admissions & Recruitment personnel. In the Summer of 2018 I was granted a temporary promotion to initiate the Bachelor of Information Pilot Program Launch where I met with various Faculty and students to discuss the new incoming program for the Fall of 2019.

Throughout the 4 year term I had been assisting the owner of the corporation with the administration and legal frameworks of the company on a casual basis. I managed the office space, delivered sensitive confidential documentation to external cliental in a timely manner, proofread legal affidavits and other associated business documents, organized pay stubs and tax receipts, directly assisted the head financial officer with income tax reports, and for the summer term of May and June 2017 I attended court proceedings and provincial hearings at the Law Courts to assist the corporations civil litigation procedures. I have learned an abundance of skills working within various facets of the organization that has served to strengthen my communication, time management, interpersonal, administrative, strategic thinking, and litigation understandings to an advanced level.

I was responsible for addressing the needs of 30 students, chaperones and parents from Mexico. I executed inter-cultural activities to promote positive social cohesion amongst students. The role required extensive travel in Toronto and the GTA where I lead excursions to Canada's Wonderland, Niagara Falls, and the CN Tower to name a few.

On an occasional basis I addressed concerns/issues around the clock such as roommate disputes, faulty plumbing, and residence complications. This role required me to live on site.

I worked in a dynamic educational camp setting with kids between the ages of 5-15. I was trained to safely handle animals with children in stressful situations. Furthermore, as a counsellor my position included teaching children the responsibilities of owning a pet through educational activities. I organized community activities such as arts and crafts, tie dye, and water games.

As a cashier I worked in a customer facing role assisting consumers with their consumption needs. I primarily worked with seniors as the neighbourhood catered to elderly populations. During the summer months I transitioned to a managerial role for the floral department where I received, checked, and displayed weekly floral inventory.
