Leading the Social Moral Education department (PSHE + RE) and GCSE Citizenship

Supporting Year 7 students and their families with the transition into a secondary school setting and continuing to monitor their academic progress, attendance, behaviour and supporting their social and emotional well-being as they move through their initial year in high school. This involves working as part of a wider leadership team and supporting Form Tutors and subject teachers in their role.

Designing and implementing well planned our lessons using the six principles to students ages 11-16. SME is a combination of PSHE and RE ensuring that the RSE curriculum is fully addressed within lessons. GCSE Citizenship is a combination of sociology, politics and Law where students are able to learn about current issues and be well versed in democracy and the ways they can be active citizens in the UK and wider world. We follow the Edexcel GCSE citizenship curriculum

Overseeing the academic progress and personal development of CLA students attending the school to ensure they achieve their full potential. This involves leading PEP meetings and managing a positive relationship with all professionals involved in the team around the child. This role includes the writing of funding applications and rigorous data management.

As Deputy Inclusion Manager my key responsibilities involve looking at students who have been identified by staff as needing additional intervention. I support and organise the running of team meetings to ensure that a comprehensive plan to support these students to remain in education is in place. Working with young people experiencing issues with drug and/or alcohol use.
