Union Shopper is a 100% union-owned organisation that provides discounts and benefits to members on a wide range of products and services.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES- Preparing advertisements, press releases, brochures and other promotional material in accordance with Union Shopper's marketing strategy- Writing and editing corporate communication documents such as corporate profiles, annual reports, fact sheets and newsletters- Liaising with external stakeholders, senior management and service providers to ensure the effectiveness of communication strategies- Coordinating and preparing electronic direct mail campaigns for Union Shopper suppliers- Developing, implementing and analysing marketing plans- Organising and managing both internal and external events- Representing Union Shopper at industry events such as conferences- Presenting to a range of audiences information about Union Shopper- Liaising with external parties for the production of marketing material- Provision of reports relating to promotional activitiesKEY ACHIEVEMENTS- Proposed and managed the implementation of Union Shopper's new marketing strategy in 2008- Introduced previously unused promotional activities such as media relations to the organisation with positive effect- Assisted in the planning and coordination of several inaugural events including the 2010 Union Shopper Directory of Services Launch to showcase the organisation's products and services, and a Family Fun Day at the Gabba held in conjunction with Queensland Cricket- Increased usage of service with unions not previously targeted by Union Shopper through proactive marketing and public relations activities
